The mystery of the Jeff Clark surf board was solved late last nigh/early this morning. Many many thanks, shakas, and mahalos to new favorite first cousin Chris Scully for this incredible act (and of course to Jeff too). See you guys in Tahoe in a few week |

Big wave legend and Maverick's founder, Jeff Clark autographs and ships an 11 foot gun to The Spot. No note, no details. I certainly don't know Jeff, what's going on here? This is incredible!!! |

NECI grad Tommy Winrock cooked Southwestern and American fare with flair when he owned Tommy's City Grill on Shelburne Road. Loyal customers buzzed about his Philly cheese steaks, spicy chicken burritos and hefty egg sandwiches.

As reported back in early October, Tommy’s City Grill on Shelburne Road will close this month (Saturday is their last day, in fact), but fans of chef and co-owner Tommy Winrock won’t have to wait too long — nor go too far — to find him again.

Of course, we still don't know which of these newcomers will be around next year. It's a process of natural selection, with local diners only too happy to cull the candidates. Charles Reeves, for one, says he feels confident about the potential of The Spot and the Bluebird: "I think they're great additions, and they're young, and a year from now they'll be standards. I'm psyched they're both here."

I love this 'spot'. I thought for years that it would make a great restaurant and that's exactly what they did. They need to start serving breakfast all day, especially on Sunday. Great, healthy, affordable food without having to deal with going downtown. South End-ers are grateful!
